The preseason basketball polls were released this past week and it’s clear that Kennesaw State isn’t getting much respect. After an 0-18 conference showing last season, the onus is on KSU to prove the world wrong.
We do disagree with how low the ranking is as KSU’s cumulative point total is barely above newly Division I Northern Kentucky’s. Objectively, we feel that KSU has more talent than both Jacksonville and Lipscomb and should be ranked 7th with an argument for 6th.
Maybe we are homers, but we really like the 2012 freshman class at KSU and believe in these guys to get the job done. An improved perimeter defense could mitigate the lack of an interior presence which haunted the Owls last season. If the freshmen play beyond their years like Florida Gulf Coast’s did last season, the Owls could sneak into the top 5 with their solid trio of Anderson, Cummings and Love leading the way.Follow @KSUOwlHowl
