Kennesaw State has made at least three visits over the past two days to local area high schools.
On Tuesday they were at the St. Francis School in Alpharetta which is home to a handful of top talent. Kennesaw State has interest in 2013 power forward Jordan Jones who transferred from Furtah Prep, but it is unknown if he has an offer at this time. KSU also likes the Class of 2015’s Keshawn Gibbs (guard) and Kaiser Gates (forward). Other talented players on the roster include 2015’s 6’9″ Josh Coleman and 6’0″ Malik Beasley.
At NHS they likely came to see junior guard/forward Andre Chatfield who they have had interest in for awhile, but he does not have a known offer at this point. Chatfield has interest from many high-majors to go with offers from Auburn and Mississippi State. Two sport athlete Lorenzo Carter is another player on NHS that would earn some attention from coaching staffs, and has some high-major interest as well but is likely going to sign a football scholarship.
Collins Hill has a pair of extraordinarily talented juniors in point guard Devin Mitchell and big man John Carlos Reyes, both have offers from KSU. The 6’4″ Mitchell has plenty of high major interest plus offers from Georgia and Mississippi. BasketballElite.com’s Justin Byerly spoke highly of Mitchell on Twitter, “Great range as shooter, strong midrange scorer, solid athlete,” he also described the 6’9″ Reyes as “(a) long player, good hands, nice baby hook shot, rebounds and solid mid-range shot.”
Four schools with interest or offers to Mitchell: Boston University, George Mason, Tennessee and Tennessee Tech were also on the CHHS campus on Wednesday.
