D.J. Bowles is a 6’2″ 170 pound point guard who committed to the Golden Knight of Central Florida in March but recently withdrew his commitment. He told the Recruit Report, “I just don’t have that feeling for UCF like I did at first, so I just want to take a look at other options.” Now that he is back on the open market, it is likely that Kennesaw State’s offer from earlier this year will still stand.
Bowles has received offers from many schools but it is unknown how many are still valid following his decision to decommit from UCF. Among the schools that have offered at some point in time are UGA, Davidson, Murray St., Texas Tech, Penn St. and Wichita St. while Memphis, Louisiana St., Georgia Tech, Xavier, Virginia Tech and Tennessee have shown interest.
Bowles averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals as a junior at Cleveland High School in Cleveland Tennessee. He will be playing his senior year at Oldsmar Christian School in Oldsmar Florida.
