The Kennesaw State Lady Owls are rumored to be taking part in the pre-season Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) which will be held from November 9th through the 18th. Nine schools will be participating, including Kennesaw State which is led by leading scorer Taylor Mills; she averaged 12.2 points per game this past season.
Schools are only allowed to participate in the tournament once every four years; Baylor won last year’s tournament, so unfortunately there will be no Brittney Griner. However, Delaware is participating and they return the leading NCAA’s scorer Elena Delle Donne. She averaged 28 points and 10 rebounds per game last season and will be regarded as one of the best women’s college basketball players of all time. If you haven’t heard about Delle Donne’s special story and why she chose Delaware, you can read it here.
