I caught up with two big men over the weekend, and they each informed me that they have recently received offers to play for Kennesaw State University (KSU). Emmanuel Eze-Chinonso was offered for next year’s class (2013) and John Carlos Reyes was offered for the class of 2014.
Eze-Chinonso is a seven footer who currently attends Covenant Christian Ministries Academy in Marietta Georgia and is set to graduate in the class of 2013. He communicated to me that he has received an offer from KSU and is also receiving interest from UAB and Mississippi State, but has not made up his mind at this time of where he is going to commit to. However, he did say that he would prefer to remain in Georgia. I believe that Eze-Chinonso has room to improve his game and has the raw skills to become a very good basketball player at the college level. He is an excellent rebounder and defender but is still a bit raw offensively. I feel that he is capable of putting the ball in the hoop, and should use his senior year to hone his post skills to go with his impressive size and frame.
John Carlos Reyes is a 6 foot 8 inch forward/center in the class of 2014, and attends Collins Hill high school in Suwanee Georgia. The rising junior with a 7’1″ wing span told me he prides himself on his defense and doesn’t like it when people score on him. The athletic Reyes says his favorite move on offense is the hook shot. He recently received an offer from KSU and says that he likes the school and the coaches. He is also receiving interest from George Mason and Western Carolina.
By our count, Eze-Chinonso is the twelfth player in the 2013 class to receive an offer from KSU. Reyes is only the fourth player in the 2014 class to be offered, and he is also the first forward or center to claim one for that year.
